James Reveals How He Broke Affair News to Bullock

We knew what happened, now we know how it happened.

In March 2010, the world found out that motorcycle mogul and sometime TV star Jesse James cheated on then-wife, Oscar-winner Sandra Bullock, with a tattoo model named Michelle "Bombshell" McGee. Now, thanks to James' new memoir "American Outlaw," we learn how Bullock found out.

According to James, a publicist for Bullock learned that McGee was planning to go public with accusations, and that spurred James to come clean to Bullock himself.

"I told her the hard details," he writes. "I let her know that I had never loved this woman, that I had never cared for her at all."

"The feeling of shame and sadness that washed over me as Sandy began to cry was almost beyond measure ... I didn't touch her. I sat frozen in my chair, watching, as Sandy's small body shook with sobs."

James then goes on to describe the painful conversations he had to have with his daughters, who had grown close to stepmom Bullock.

"Well, sweetie, the truth is, I have no idea. Daddy f**ked up, real, real bad, so your stepmommy decided to disappear for a few weeks," he says in the book.

During promotional interviews for the book, James has admitted that he has not seen Louis, the baby boy Bullock adopted last January, since word of the affair came out.

James and tattoo artist Kat Von D are engaged to be married and plan to wed this summer.
