Beyonce Dazzles in Her First Post-Baby Concert

The singer performed to a sold-out crowd in Atlantic City

Beyonce Knowles is back and fiercer than ever. The superstar returned to the stage Friday night after a year-long hiatus.

Knowles, who gave birth to her first child, daughter Blue Ivy Carter, in January, wowed the crowd of 550 fans at the beachfront Revel resort in Atlantic City, People magazine reported.

"I gotta say," Knowles told the sold-out crowd, "it feels so good to be back home on stage," Detroit Free Press reported.

The new mom and People magazine's "World’s Most Beautiful Woman" performed hit singles such as "Halo," "Single Ladies" and "Run the World (Girls)" with her all-female band and 10 dancers, according to People.

Knowles dazzled in custom made Ralph & Russo designs.

“Beyonce wanted us to be really creative and create fun and edgy designs that had an ultra-glamorous feel to them,” designer Tamara Ralph told People.

“Beyonce always delivers energetic performances and therefore we take into account the comfort and flexibility of each outfit and the ease of getting in and out of the pieces with quick costume changes,” said co-designer Michael Russo. “It was an absolute pleasure to work with her to create exquisite pieces that dazzle on stage.”

The singer’s husband, Jay-Z, was on hand for Knowles’ first performance in a series of four Memorial Day Weekend concerts, all at Revel.

In the behind the scenes video posted on her website, Knowles said she was excited but also nervous ahead of her first post-baby live performance. It’s “like going back to my old job,” she said.

“It’s a little strange. But it’s important that you don’t lose yourself and you still have your own passions.”

The new mom said her daughter was the inspiration behind the show.

“What I’m trying to say with this show is, yes, I had a baby, but I’m even more grounded,” Knowles said in the video.
