Salma Hayek to be “Knighted” in France

Hayek’s father-in-law also makes the list.

French President Nicolas Sarkozy has named Salma Hayek to receive the Légion d'Honneur, a five-tiered honor academy, as a Knight, People mag reported.

The “Puss in Boots” star will be formally inducted at the Élysées Palace within the next two months, People reported.

Other Hollywood stars who have reportedly been awarded the Legion of Honor include Jerry Lewis, Clint Eastwood, Robert Redford and Robert De Niro.

This year’s honor is extra special for Hayek’s family, as her father-in-law, retired French business mogul Francois Pinault, also made the list.

Hayek and her billionaire hubby, Francois-Henri Pinault, have a 4-year-old daughter together, Valentina.
