Channing Tatum Offers Condolences to Slain Soldier's Family

Peter Andrew McKenna, 35, died in Kabul after he was attacked by enemy small arms fire.

Actor Channing Tatum has offered his condolences to the family of the Army Green Beret who was killed in Afghanistan earlier this month.

In a post to his Instgram page, Tatum says, "I'd like to offer my deepest condolences to the family of First Sergeant Peter Andrew McKenna, a brave soldier we had the honor of meeting in Afghanistan."

McKenna, 35, died in Kabul after he was attacked by enemy small arms fire.

Tatum and "Magic Mike XXL" co-star Adam Rodriguez, as well as actor Nick Zano, met McKenna during a USO tour in February, People reported.  

On Saturday, U.S. Sen. Jack Reed called McKenna "an extraordinary young man with a big heart and a dedicated, distinguished soldier."

McKenna was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 7th Special Forces Group at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida.
