Eminem Slams Trump in Pointed Rap During BET's Hip Hop Awards

And at the end of the video, Eminem spoke to his fans with a specific message: You can be an Eminem fan or a Trump fan. But you can't be both

The real Slim Shady stood up — to President Donald Trump.

In a video that aired Tuesday night during BET's Hip Hop Awards, rapper Eminem performed a freestyle feature, slamming Trump for his response to the deadly violence and protests in Charlottesville and his comments on NFL players kneeling during the national anthem. Eminem, whose real name is Marshall Mathers, even took on Trump for his escalating feud with North Korea, calling the president "a kamikaze that'll probably cause a nuclear holocaust."

"Racism's the only thing he's fantastic for," Eminem continued, calling out later in the number the hypocrisy of black soldiers who are confronted with "tiki torches" and told to "go back to Africa."

Eminem called Trump's recent focus on the NFL a "form of distraction" that takes away from Puerto Rico and gun reform conversations because Trump would rather "cause a Twitter storm with the Packers."

The rapper raised his fist in the air to show solidarity with former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who was the first player to protest during the national anthem last year. Kaepernick responded to the gesture on Twitter.

"I appreciate you Eminem," he tweeted with a fist emoji.

Eminem also mocked Trump's notion of lowering taxes, questioning "who's gonna pay for his extravagant trips" to play golf.

And at the end of the video, Eminem spoke to his fans with a specific message: You can be an Eminem fan or a Trump fan. But you can't be both.

"The rest of America — stand up," he concludes. "We love our military and we love our county, but we [expletive] hate Trump."

The rapper and president didn't always seem to be at odds. The two shared the stage together for a 2004 tribute special on MTV dubbed "The Shady National Convention."

Alongside the presidential election that year (President George W. Bush v. John Kerry), the music network held a mock convention for Eminem complete with sketches, speeches and songs. And, yes, an introduction from Donald Trump, the man appointed Eminem's "Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Cash."

"I know a winner when I see one," Trump said in the special to a raucous audience. "And Donald Trump is telling you right now, Slim Shady is a winner. He's got brains, he's got guts, and he's got Donald Trump's vote. Ladies and gentlemen, our great candidate, Slim Shady!"

But after Slim Shady attacked now-President Trump, fellow artists took to Twitter to praise the defiant rap:
