Jon Stewart visited the Today set Tuesday to discuss hosting the upcoming “Night of Too Many Stars.” Stewart touched on the recent allegations against Louis C.K. saying he was "shocked" when he first heard the accusations admitting "comedy is not a great environment for women."

Stewart added, "It’s another one of those endemic, systemic, complex problems that we all haven’t had the urgency for, and certainly myself included. I hope it changes."

On Monday, C.K.'s longtime manager Dave Becky issued a statement apologizing for his client's behavior.

"I profoundly regret and am deeply sorry for not listening to and not understanding what happened to Dana and Julia," Becky said. "If I had, I would have taken this event as seriously as it deserved to be, and I would have confronted Louis, which would have been the right thing to do."
