Missing “Superman” Producer Found

Missing "Superman" movie producer Ilya Salkind was found alive in Mexico Thursday according to friend and fellow movie producer James Buccelli.  No other details were released.

Buccelli told NBCLA Salkind disappeared last Monday and that friends and family reported the disappearance to police in Mexico City.

Buccelli said the website dedicated to the disappearance would be updated later this afternoon with more details.  Buccelli would only tell NBCLA Salkind was "alive" and he would not comment about Salkind's condition.  No information about the disappearance was released.

Ilya went missing from his family home in Tepozlan Mexico about one hour south of Mexico City in Morales County and was last heard from on Sunday night, January 30, 2011 at about 8:00 p.m after speaking with friends and business partners in Los Angeles, CA, although it is believed that he left his house on Monday, January 31, 2011 to do some errands and for a dental appointment.

Ilya is created with producing and supervising (with his deceased father) the filming on "Superman" and "Superman II," simultaneously, as the father and son team had done with "The Three Musketeers" and "The Four Musketeers." Later, Ilya also acted as Executive Producer on "Superman III" and was involved in the production of numerous other films including most recently "Young Alexander the Great."
