“Arrested Development” Creator Has Good News about Long-Awaited Movie

To fans of the cult-classic (and short-lived) FOX comedy, “Arrested Development,” the rumors of a movie floating around have been as torturous as promised trips to Legoland that somehow fell through. But creator Mitch Hurwitz recently delivered optimistic news, saying that they’ve “started [the movie] process.”

Entertainment Weekly reports that this is the most promising of all statements said about the movie’s production, which has been put on hold multiple times for a myriad of reasons—conflicts with producers, cast issues, and the like.

But no longer! Says Hurwitz: “It is our sincere hope to shoot it this year and get it out this year.”

The claim, of course, should be taken with a grain of salt. Hurwitz was quick to offer terms and conditions. “A lot of things have to fall into place for that to happen. I don’t like to toy with the affections of our fans. “

Seems like a pretty stiff thing to say. Well, time to boil some water, and satiate ourselves in the meantime with hot ham water and “Arrested Development” re-runs.
