Kirstie Alley, Sugar Ray Leonard, Kendra & “Karate Kid” Join “DWTS”

Tea Party favorite Christine O’Donnell is a no-go for the new season of “Dancing with the Stars.”

Instead, actress Kirstie Alley, talk show host Wendy Williams and reality star Kendra Wilkinson will spar with a former boxing champion and the original “Karate Kid” when ABC's dance competition returns in three weeks.

Sugar Ray Leonard, the former welterweight champ turned boxing analyst, was the first name “Dancing” co-hosts Tom Bergeron and Brook Burke unveiled midway through Monday’s “The Bachelor.”

Leonard joined Ralph Macchio, star of 1984's “The Karate Kid,” and the rest of the new cast, save Czech-born supermodel Petra Nemcova, for a live "press conference" following ABC's big reveal.

“I just have to point my toes this time,” Macchio said when asked if having choreographing experience would help his chances.

The presser was a mostly low-key affair with O'Donnell's notable omission from the new cast. The controversial Delaware pol famous for her "I am not a witch" political ad had publicly toyed with joining the show and would have brought Bristol Palin-style intrigue to the ballroom.

In her absence, Kirstie Alley wasn't keen on projecting her own star power during a live Q &A.

She requested a "pass" when Bergeron asked why she finally accepted the gig after having refused past offers to lace up. Alley told another reporter her main goal was to "try not to fall on our butts the first week."

Also competing on the show's new season will be: Romeo, the son of rapper and “Dancing” alum Master P; Disney star Chelsea Kane; NFLer Hines Ward; "Love Line" host Mike Catherwood; and the WWE's Chris Jerico.
