No one but no one would lodge any sort of claim that Beverly Hills takes the understated or underwhelming path, ever, in anything.
We mean, please. Remember the Lear Jet that showed up on Rodeo Drive last Father's Day? Goodness.
Razz? Check. Matazz? That, too. And this commitment to over-the-top-ery is on full, flagrant, and fabulous display at one of the city's most famous free events, the Concours D'Elegance, which rolls, then parks, on Rodeo Drive on Sunday, June 15.
Which means it is both famous and free and very much associated with Father's Day, too. Yep, dads and their kin shall be out in full dadly formation, checking out the haute wheels and soaking in some sun. It's a popular thing.
And here's why: Concours rounds up dozens upon dozens of fancy and strange and outlandish and important vehicles and lines 'em up for the sole purpose that they be admired. And there's a lot of admiring to do. The Wells Fargo Wagon'll be there, and the Maserati, the year's big honoree. And the Beverly Hills Speedway will receive some love as well.
The theme, in fact, is 100 Years of Horse Power. Vrooma vrooma.
