Are You Obsessed With Avocados? Then Visit The Cado Museum in San Diego

The Cado Museum in San Diego offers exhibits such as the Ripe Room, that has panels with material meant to be avocado skin

Do you like to go to museums? Are you willing to pay extra for guacamole on the side? Are you wondering why these two questions are related? Well, it’s because there is now a museum dedicated to the avocado, open for members of the ‘cado cult just like you.

The Cado Museum in San Diego, California offers exhibits such as the Ripe Room, that has panels with material meant to be avocado skin. Some may be too hard or too soft, but you can decide for yourself which skin is the ripest. There is also the Ambre Enclave, which features the first, "Mamma," Hass avocado tree and the first Hass avocado tree patent for guests to look at.

The museum experience can even be enhanced by a cassette tour narrated by singer Jason Mraz, a San Diego native and self-proclaimed avocado lover. Mraz will take you through the entire museum journey, from tree to toast, said The Cado Museum’s Co-Founder Ann Buehner.

If you feel like you need a drink after your tour, you can get an avocado toast honey cider, rereleased by Newtopia, a craft cider joint across the street.
