If you've ever done a bit of rambling in the Santa Monica Mountains, you've likely wished you could push on a bit further, but didn't. Maybe you encountered private land, or the end of a trail, but your hike came to a close. Prepare for your hikes to grow more epic on Friday, June 3 when the Backbone Trail makes its official debut. The wending path winds from Will Rogers State Historic Park into Ventura County, with a start/terminus point near Thornhill Broome Beach.
