Coachella 2015 Announced: AC/DC, Jack White, Drake

Two April weekends'll see a cornucopia of artists.

The art of the entertainment-flavored rumor has waned over the years, as superstars look to get ahead of the news, and promote tours, albums, and movies, by managing their own hearsay (true or not).

But rumors find purchase and fertile ground in the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, the grand poobah of modern mondo music-a-terium-type extravaganzas. The Internet is alight with guesses and "I heards" for weeks leading up the big announcement of who will take the stage at the big April show.

That announcement arrived on Tuesday, Jan. 6. There are three headliners representing the three weekend days of the desert concert — a weekend that repeats, lest you miss one or need to see both — and they are AC/DC (Friday), Jack White (Saturday), and Drake (Sunday).

The dates are Friday April 10, Saturday, April 11, Sunday April 12, and repeat: Friday, April 17, Saturday, April 18, and Sunday, April 19.

Though "repeat" isn't right, as fans know the shows change up and take on individual character, and new surprise guests (hence some true-blue buffs sticking around for the whole week.

As for the other acts on the as-expected outsized line-up? Azealia Banks, Interpol, Steely Dan, Belle and Sebastian, Lykke Li, and Alabama Shakes will hello the expected outsized crowds, and then bring their own shoegaze-y, intellectual popster, Southern balladry to the sunblock-wearing, sunglasses-sporting masses.

Tickets go on sale on Wednesday, Jan. 7, while hotel and motel rooms are already filling up and out.
