Do you Old Pas?
We don't mean do you regularly call upon Old Pasadena, the historic-cool, alley-awesome, shop- and restaurant-laden quarter of the Crown City, for we're quite sure that, at least now and then, you do.
But do you Old Pas, as in, do you like to say "Old Pas"? In the catchy way that locals will sometimes shorten a neighborhood name when speaking, making the area in question feel just a tad hipper, at least in terms of the nickname game?
If you do, you know know the origin of BoldPas, the brand-new, 100% free "Art Takeover" that's set to bloom around the charming area on Saturday, Aug. 12.
You don't have to pay a thing to soak in the "...intersection of design, architecture, art, history, and public space," a mind-growing meet-up that will play out through a dozen installations.
These site-specific works? You won't need to enter any gallery or museum to admire them; they'll be outside, under the sky, in the aforementioned alleyways, those quaint walk-throughs that are synonymous with Old Pas.
And now, of course, BoldPas, too.
The Scene
