Free: Grand Ave Arts: All Access

Take an architecture tour, watch dance, and enjoy other cultural offerings at the free event.

Dipping into a free cultural festival that covers multiple areas and interests over six hours?

Choosing where to start may be the most overwhelming decision of the day. But the general feeling of happy whelm-a-tude — as in, enjoying a sense of being fully whelmed, transported by music, dance, art, and information — will carry throughout the day on Saturday, Nov. 4.

That's when Grand Ave Arts: All Access returns to the iconic downtown thoroughfare, all to connect Southern Californians of all ages with a host of great, mind-enriching experiences at absolutely no cost.

Just make your way to Grand between Temple and 5th Streets between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Nov. 4 and then decide with your pals or family members or on your own where to go first.

Will you jump into an informative architecture tour? Or watch a live dance performance? Or take in a screening that's perfect for family viewing? Will you savor a spirited saunter through Grand Park where a lovely line-up of Día de los Muertos altars are on display through Sunday, Nov. 5?

A tap dancing-oriented pop-up performance at the Colburn School, a backstage tour with the LA Opera, and free admission at MOCA are just a few of the gems filling the can't-do-it-all, want-to-do-it-all schedule.

Perhaps finding two or three have-to-do-those-for-sures before going Grand Avenue is the key. So start here, pre-planners, note the times, and ride Metro in, if you can, as things'll be mighty abustle around one of LA's great cultural byways.
