Has it been too long since you've put chalk to a sidewalk and drawn a line? Or a smiley face? Or a heart? Or a hopscotch grid? Or a full-blown, multi-color, shading-and-light masterpiece? Best go seek inspiration, or at least many lovely images to gaze down upon, at the 26th Annual Pasadena Chalk Festival.
The free event is one of the popular staples of a Southern California Father's Day, though do note that the festival runs both days of Father's Day Weekend. Yes, the portraits and landscapes will be closer to completion on June 17, but if you'd like to see the artists starting out, which is an interesting step in the process, stop by on June 16.
The place is The Paseo on Colorado Boulevard, the hours each day are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and there are cool art activities for kids, too. Plus? Live tunes and more convivial doings shall flower both days. Take a look back now at past artworks from this ever-popular event...
