Hello Kitty Supercute Friendship Festival

The live entertainment show puts the big proverbial bow atop The Forum.

Proverbial pet wisdom says that a human hoping to be a prospective cat parent might consider adopting two felines, or even three.

If we wanted to take that viewpoint and apply it to Hello Kitty and Los Angeles, it wouldn't be too much of a cat-style, table-to-kitchen-counter leap. Why? It turns out, at least 'round these parts, that big things with the pop culture powerhouse known as Hello Kitty comes in pairs.

Hello Kitty Con, the first-ever convention devoted to all things Hello Kitty, brought glitter and smiles to Southern California over Halloween weekend 2014. And now the Hello Kitty Supercute Friendship Festival, which is not a twin to Hello Kitty Con but rather a live entertainment, on-the-road arena show-plus-more, shall summon bow-bedecked buddies throughout the land to The Forum.

Singing, sparkles, optimism, and cute characters shall captivate Kittyists from Friday, June 12 through Sunday, June 14.

But live entertainment isn't the only centerpiece to the Sanrio-sweet spectacular. Interactive happenings, photo opportunities, and more rainbow-smiley good times await, both on the stage and in areas where characters are waiting to meet fans.

Can you cosplay for the Supercute Friendship Festival? Dress in your most cheerful, iconic Hello Kitty best? To say that this is encouraged is an understatement. The Hello Kitty fandom is very much about the awesome and sometimes outrageous costumes, so if you own the twinkly togs, or at least an over-sized pink or red hair bow, for sure, wear it.

Tickets, including the Platinum Bow package? This way, handholding, happy friends.

Knowing that such niceness was just around the corner? Well, Hello Kitty devotees are a pretty sharp bunch, but other fans of the Sanrio pop culture icon should have read the character's big arrival on the wind: With the mondo CatConLA happening over the first weekend in June in LA, and National Best Friends Day occurring just days before the Friendship Festival, the sugar-sprinkled signs were in the air.
