Pups helping other pups? People loving upon pooches? And everyone making merry in honor of an especially lively holiday? That was the adorable outlook on the morning of Sunday, March 3 at the Embarcadero Marina Park North in San Diego. Oh, whoops, make that EmBARKadero, thanks to the nearly 500 dogs and humans who turned out for the Doggie Gras 5K & Parade, presented by Blue Buffalo. Is your Fido feeling the Fat Tuesday spirit? Then paws, we mean pause to find inspo from the cute scene seen at the Sunday, March 3 gathering. Hounds were out in their gussy-up Mardi Gras looks, and the non-dogs in attendance got into the fun fundraising swing, too. And was there an area at the fest called BourBONE Street? Of course there was.
The beneficiary? The Helen Woodward Animal Center of Rancho Santa Fe, the place behind those summertime surf dog lessons and so many other offbeat and sweet dog-oriented to-dos.
