Enjoying an exquisitely sewn gown, a towering top hat, or beautifully constructed suit? It can be as simple as turning on your television set and tuning into a series widely known for sartorial splendor. And there are many such series nowadays, in this robust and regal age of creative costuming on television. But how to see such amazing outfits in person? From just a few feet away? By journeying to the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in DTLA, where the 12th annual "Art of Television Costume Design" opened on Tuesday, Aug. 21.
Over 100 costumes are on view, from 24 current and recent series, several of which have been nominated for Emmy awards. It's all free to see, but make sure you call upon the FIDM galleries Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., through Oct. 6, 2018.
