What to Know
Friday, March 8, 6 to 10 p.m.
Several locations around Pasadena
Heading into the second part of March, just a couple of weeks ahead of the spring equinox, can feel a little like emergin from your snug cocoon.
Of course, a coccoon can be wickedly cozy, especially when it has been quite rainy out, and you've been wearing your favorite fluffy socks, and your favorite pajamas, and revisiting your favorite flicks.
But emerge, we all tend to do, around this time of year, thanks to the warming weather and Daylight Saving Time.
And just over a day ahead of DST? Something rather magical will happen in the Crown City, and something very, very free, too.
It's ArtNight Pasadena, a four-hour eveningtime event which pops up, with panache, creativity, and food trucks in tow, twice a year. The next date for all of this fabulous, art-forward free-a-tude is Friday, March 8, which will be on the drier side, surprise surprise.
No surprise, though, that so many marvelous institutions are participating, from the Norton Simon Museum to ArtCenter College of Design to the Shumei Arts Council to the the Jackie Robinson Community Center to the Gamble House.
There are so many more places on the list, so the best bet is to peek outside of your comfy cocoon and peruse 'em all.
As for the noshing you'll do at the food trucks? It's a give-back kind of affair, for 10% of the proceeds will go to lending ArtNights down the road some love.
Showing on March 8? Pie 'n Burger, Rodney's Ribs, and India Jones, just to name a few. Just make sure you note where each food truck will be, if you've got a particular hankering in mind.
Is it truly time to bid your wintry cocoon goodbye? So you may transform into your spring-best self?
That moment is coming, and the free ArtNight, with all of its wonderful works, can help make the process all the more delightful.
