Taste of Farmers Market Fêtes the Landmark's 85th

Tickets are still available to the 3rd & Fairfax foodie festivity.

What to Know

  • Tuesday, July 23, 5-9 p.m.
  • Third & Fairfax
  • $40 on July 22, $50 on day-of

Strolling into a place with food, lots of food, and lots of different kinds of food, can prompt a person to speak some variation on the following sentence: "I'd like to eat everything here."

That never happens, we'll just go ahead say, and for wise reason: Both the capacity of our middle section, and our money-holding wallet or account, will prevent that plan, full stop.

But when a place that is world-famous for a variety of global eats throws a party that involves a taste from over 50 purveyors of food on the property?

That's when your "I'd like to eat everything here" dreams have a chance of truly coming true, in the waist-wisest, wallet-nicest sense.

Well, the annual Taste of Farmers Market is pretty indulgent, anyway you look at it, so you'll leave feeling quite full. After all, you'll be calling upon Trejo's Tacos, and Deano's Gourmet Pizza, and Singapore's Banana Leaf, and several other savory/sweet spots, all to try some of their very best fare.

Fire Stations 61 & 58 are stopping by to make their famous pots of Firehouse Chili. For sure, there'll be a vegetarian option, if that's your preference.

It's all a succulent, super-appetizing celebration in honor of the landmark's birthday. It's 85th, in fact, which means this beloved public market has stood at the corner of Third & Fairfax for a hunk of a century now, and there's no disputing this fact.

Taste of Farmers Market 2019 is set for Tuesday evening, July 23, and a ticket? Score yours for $40 on July 22 or $50 on July 23, "while supplies last."

You'll be able to say, with honesty, that you did actually eat everywhere, or mostly everywhere, at the vittles-packed place. For sure, you'll be full, but not bursting, if you pace yourself, and perhaps only stick to your favorite vendors.

Or those eateries you've never tried before.

Or a little bit of both. It all works, it is all right, and it is a night to remember, on the corner of Third & Fairfax.
