What to Know
Wednesday, July 17
2:50 p.m. and 5:25 p.m.
The sights you'll see inside Disneyland park?
A certain snowy mountain, if you look northeast from the Central Plaza. Elephants flying overhead, if you're near King Arthur's Carrousel.
And birthday buttons everywhere, on hundreds if not thousands of lapels, all to show that The Happiest Place on Earth is the place where many people choose to spend their happiest day.
But how do you throw a birthday party for a place that is the scene of so many birthdays, every single day?
By staging the Happiest March on Earth, of course, a procession that will include a host of well-known Disney characters, and Mickey and Minnie, too.
The special event will unfurl, with a notable amount of festiveness, on Wednesday, July 17, 2019, in honor of Disneyland's 64th birthday.
Look for the special parade to spotlight "64 years of magic, innovation, and expansion at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim," yes, but if you want to simply wave at the characters as they pass by, it is hard to top that time-honored tradition.
You can find this celebratory merriment near Town Square, along Main Street, U.S.A., and by Sleeping Beauty's Castle, too. And, you bet, if you're in the vicinity of "it's a small world," you'll be adjacent to the high-spirited event.
An event that will take place twice on July 17, at 2:50 in the afternoon and again at 5:25 p.m., if you need to see this only-for-a-day to-do once more.
For there are serious parade mavens in the Disney fandom, the people who like to collect parades they've seen in the way that other people collect Disney pins.
This is, after all, a very, very limited-time parade, as it is just for Disneyland's birthday.
Which now has us wondering: If Disneyland park wore one of its own classic birthday buttons, where would it sit? Atop a spire at Space Mountain? On one of the rocky features of Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge? Or maybe at the entrance, in front of the train station?
It would certainly have to be the biggest birthday button ever, one that reflected all of the enchantment the iconic theme park has deliver to millions over the last 64 years.
