Weekend: Happy Pride, Los Angeles

Concert headliners (hello Brandy, hello Chromeo) and the #ResistMarch are just ahead.

LA PRIDE: It's one of the planet's biggest LGBTQ parties, a festivity that draws hundreds of thousands of revelers, supporters, and people committed to making a powerful difference. The started-in-1970 event will include the joyful festival at West Hollywood Park, as is tradition — Brandy, Chromeo, and several other major artists'll be on the stages — while the annual parade will become #ResistMarch, with a host of speakers (as well as a rally). Note a change from parades past: #ResistMarch begins at Hollywood and Highland and will finish at the festival in WeHo. The dates? Be at the fest on June 10 and 11 and the march on June 11 well before the 9 a.m. kick-off.

CicLAvia: Shine up your handlebars and kickstand, because you're rolling from Glendale to Atwater Village, or Atwater Village to Glendale, when the mega closed-to-cars open streets event lands in the area. The main streets? Brand, Central, and Glendale are the thoroughfares, and the route runs three miles. Community booths, food trucks, and lots of lively, neighborhood-y action will be out on the sidewalks and asphalt. It's free, as always, and it spins on Sunday, June 11.

LA Design Festival: Visual kapow? New approaches to long-existing systems? Design has a art-tastic hand in how we see, deal with, and love much of what surrounds us. We're lucky, then, to live in a region that's home to so many accoladed thinkers and creators in the design field. Revel in the cutting-edge-ed-ness of New California Craft, a caboodle of pop-ups, and more, at ROW DTLA through Sunday, June 11.

Longest Pizza: Over 100 pizza-makers, including a number of lauded pie-creating chefs, will meet at the Auto Club Speedway in Fontana to go for a world record of lengthy proportions. They hope to top 7,000 feet — that's 7,000 feet of dough, sauce, and cheese, oh yeah — and they'll donate the final product to area food banks and shelters. It's free to watch, and there'll be snacking opportunities nearby, in case watching a gargantuan pizza made puts you in the noshing mood. Saturday, June 10

Final First Friday: You love science. You could talk biology or physics all day, with a cocktail in hand, and you do. Where to hobnob with other fans of big ideas, among dino bones, while DJs spin and food-smart experts talk about LA's eat-around scene? Why at the Natural History Museum, of course, where the final First Friday of the season will take place on Friday, June 9. Don't dally, if you want to go, for the event will not return before 2018.
