dineLA: Find Delish Deals at 300+ SoCal Eateries

How will you cover everything in 14 days?

Many people tend to think best in numbers, and amounts, and percentages, particularly at the start of the year when budget-minded living has returned with a sensible vengeance.

So if you'd like to calculate how many dineLA iterations would have to happen for you to enjoy a lunch or dinner at each of the participating restaurants, the number hovers at about 11 or so, give or take.

Oh, dineLA? You totally know it. It's the biannual Southern California restaurant week that's actually a restaurant fortnight. And it encompasses over 300 eateries offering deals and discounts on lunch and dinner, and/or special dineLA dishes.

With that number in mind -- 300+ -- and that dineLA lasts for 14 days -- Monday, Jan. 19 through Sunday, Feb. 1 for this go-around -- you can see that you'll need to be very proactive, for a number of dineLAs to come, to cover the impressive breadth of bites represented.

Are your calculator-tapping fingertips sore? And your head, too, what with all of the January budget-making? Then turn your mind to the meals you'll enjoy at places like Artisan House, Bacaro LA, Fig & Olive Melrose Place, Gravlax, Lucques, and a full (re: out-sized) complement of the region's best, most interesting, newest, and oldest restaurants.

Yep, it is hard to wrap up the everythingness of dineLA, given that every cuisine and lots of price points are represented. But know this going in: Your prix fixe deals will show you some of the best of what a restaurant has to offer, for less than you'd normally pay.

That concept doesn't make the head hurt too much. Nor should the making of budgets, or keeping to them, in January. Math is our friend, and especially when it comes to figuring out meal deals at fine establishments around town, and how to enjoy them for a song, or something like a song.
