A third Los Angeles Police Department officer tested positive for COVID-19, NBCLA I-Team and NBC News sources confirmed Saturday.
The officer was assigned to patrol, day shift, at LAPD's Central Division, adjacent to Skid Row.
The officer had symptoms earlier in the week and was sent home Thursday.
