2/24: Free Visqueen Concert

They're rocking Amoeba tonight.

VISQUEEN: The All Music Guide, quoted on the Amoeba site, draws a comparison between lead singer Rachel Flotard's stylings and Kim Deal. We can see that. We can also see catching this Seattle band, for free, tonight at Amoeba Records at 7PM. (Ms. Flotard has her own catchy thing, by the way, which you will see/hear when you go tonight.)

"DOWNSTREAM" LA PREMIERE: If your head starts spinning when you read about a new movie set in a "near-future dystopia," get to The Egyptian tonight. So many fine and important movies have taken place in this setting, we can't wait to see what director Simone Bartesaghi does. Several principals from the film will appear in-person. 7:30PM

TAIMANE GARDNER: Trader Vic's "A Taste of Hawaii" has been running all month long at the L.A. Live location. Tonight, the Beverly Hills Trader Vic's gets into the island spirit with comp leis and exquisite ukulele. Call the restaurant for details.
