3/24: Free Chatmonchy Show

The rockin' trio is at Amoeba.

CHATMONCHY: We're tempted to start this entry with "straight from Japan" but that's not exactly true, since this trio of rockers just made a much-anticipated stop at SXSW. They're at Amoeba tonight, at 7 p.m., playing for free, "Hyoujou" is their latest record, and if you miss 'em now, they're at The Viper Room on Saturday, March 27.

DEVENDRA BANHART: Spring 2010 is just a few days old, and if we were to chose an artist to visit us with soft-wind strumming and sweet folky mind musings, it would be Mr. Banhart. He's at the Wiltern, tonight, with the Grogs. See if you don't feel a strange and cool breeze.

IAN BOSTRIDGE: There are many superstars in classical circles, but this English tenor is way, way up there. That doesn't mean that he, or his exquisite voice, are inaccessible. On the contrary; he makes even rarely heard classics embraceable. He's at Royce Hall at 8 p.m.
