4900 Hollywood Blvd Project Would Bring Condos, Hotel

Wow. And wow. Check out the details of the proposed 4900 Hollywood Blvd project. Located across the street from Barnsdall Park (and close to Vermont Avenue), this project would bring a 15-story hotel, an 18-story condo tower and more to this not entirely cheerful stretch of street. According to the web site for the Greater Griffith Park Neighborhood Council, a scoping meeting was scheduled for last week at the Barnsdall Gallery Theatre. Here's the official description via the linked pdf study: "The proposed project would involve the demolition of the existing uses on the project site and the construction of a mixed-use hotel, commercial and multi-family development with three levels of subterranean parking, one level of at-grade parking, and two levels of above-ground parking containing approximately 472 off-street parking spaces. ..components include an 18-story tower containing approximately 164 condominiums, eight two-story townhouses located on the 4th level, a 15-story extended-stay hotel with 150 rooms, and 27,000 square feet of ground floor commercial." These renderings were taken off architect Thomas P. Cox's web site, but it's not clear if these are the most up to date images.
