8/13: Swedes. Sisters. Banjo Punk.

BASKERY: A bit alt-country, a bit punky, all family. Greta, Sunniva, and Stella Bondesson hail from Sweden, and they've described their sister act as "banjo punk." Sign us up. We like to see the banjo go a little bit bad. We also like a good, close-knit bunch of siblings making music, especially when they're tearing up songs, via the guitar, tambourine, snare, and harmonica, with attitude to spare. At Levitt Pavilion in Pasadena.

VINCENT GALLO AND SEAN LENNON: The actor (and director and musician) and the musician (and artist and actor) join forces for a night of tunes and journeys of the mind; The Ghost of a Saber Toothed Tiger is also on the bill. The duo has three dates listed -- San Francisco, LA, and San Diego -- so definitely make for Largo at the Coronet for a rare musical treat. 9PM

DOWNTOWN ART WALK: Second Thursday of the month, so it's on. No one is saying you have to go for all nine hours of art-taking-in-ing -- if you want to, fab -- but we are saying this is an awesome and free -- free free free -- monthly event with plenty for the eyes and ears to enjoy. Go after work, at the sunset hour, and forget the day. Noon-9PM; centered around Spring and Main (check full map)
