8/19: Free Michelle Branch Show

MICHELLE BRANCH: This singer-songwriter's soundtrack-friendly ditties -- like "The Game of Love" with Carlos Santana and "Everywhere" -- were everywhere just a few years back, around the time she was nominated for a Best New Artist GRAMMY. The artist is still rocking, releasing singles and playing live. Like The Grove show at 8PM in support of Donate Life. It's free. "American Idol"-er Jason Castro opens.

DAUGHTRY: And speaking of "American Idol"... Chris Daughtry -- a very close-to-the-top finisher in the fifth season of the powerhouse hit -- will be rocking with his band at Music Box @ Fonda (word is it is sold out, though a few tickets were released yesterday afternoon, per Golden Voice). If you miss the show, fret not: Daughtry will be on "America's Got Talent" tonight. A Daughtry-riffic day indeed.

"FROM JUSTIN TO KELLY": We have to admit we did not catch this when it debuted. Not that we didn't think about it. We were sweet on Mr. Guarini during that first, supersonic run of "American Idol" -- you were, too -- and the beachy movie looked like some sort of fizzy tonic. If you missed it, too, American Cinematheque is showing it, at the Egyptian. It follows "Glitter" -- yep, the Mariah Carey "Glitter" -- and screens at 7:30PM.
