8/7: Black Eyed Peas at the Fair

THE BLACK EYED PEAS: Can it be, truly, that the OC Super Fair concerts are ending? There've been so many good ones. *Super* ones, we should say. But, just three more to go, including a show from The Black Eyed Peas. Fergie, Taboo, apl.de.ap, and will.i.am will be touring in support of new album The E.N.D. Let's get it started indeed, even as the fair wraps. 7:30PM

LYLE LOVETT AND HIS LARGE BAND: We should give the high-haired, winsomely voiced singer credit, of course, for his musical talents. But we'd also like to applaud Mr. Lovett for his turn as a Pasadena P.I. in Robert Altman's "The Player"; it was one of our favorite parts of the movie. The crooner is at The Greek Theatre, crooning, naturally. Madeleine Peyroux joins. 7:30PM

JONAS BROTHERS: They're not just playing one night at Staples. Not two. But three nights. Which is almost half a week, when you think about it. The brothers' "Concert Experience" DVD has been out for just over a month; hope you've watched it one or ten times to prep for a night -- or nights, if you have tickets to all three -- of full-on teen-star-pop-extravaganza-dom. August 7th-9th.
