A Pack o' Mud Mask Packs

September 30th is National Mud Pack Day, and since we don't live in a particularly muddy city, we'll get ours from jars...

"CLUB MUD" RED CLAY: When people think "mud" and "Southern California" we'll wager that Glen Ivy Hot Springs pops into their minds. Glen Ivy is home to Club Mud, and it is the premiere spot to slather on the stuff and bake. If you can't make it there, there is an at-home jar of the goopy goodness. $14; currently out of stock, but check back (or, better yet -- pay a visit to the spa's gift shop).

NARS Skin Mud Mask: Via Sephora. What we're most intrigued about: the inclusion of sea silt and algae. There's something very day-at-the-beach-y to that. Also look for white lily extracts. There's something very day-in-the-garden-y to that. $45

The Pumpkin Glycolic Mask: Because it is now very autumnal -- well, for Los Angeles, it is -- and we want pumpkin just about everywhere: in our soup bowl, on our windowsill, spread lavishly across our cheeks and forehead. Pumpkin enzymes are key here. They sound tough, in a good, help-our-skin way. $24, via The Holy Mud Company
