Like many other fans of fans, we've long held that supporters of various pop-culture-iana don't mind a whit when what they're into gets combined with something they're maybe less into, but admire nonetheless. It creates a more robust atmosphere (and create higher revenue for the organizers, we imagine).
That's why conventions work well when they combine properties, and do so with style and wit. Of course, it helps when the properties being combined all have to do with one person, and that person happens to be named Joss Whedon. And when those properties have names like "Angel" and "Firefly" and "Dollhouse" and "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," well. All the ingredients mix together as well as chocolate chip cookie dough, after you've thrown in a ton of walnuts and butterscotch bits.
That combo is happening on Saturday, Nov. 6 and Sunday, Nov. 7 at the LAX Marriott. Lots of stars from the various shows are on tap to appear -- Sean Maher, Eliza Dushku, and Nicholas Brendon are on the list -- and there will be other fan-con touches, like costume dress-ups and merch to look at.
Creation Entertainment is the company behind the convention, and tickets are now available at the door.
Somebody please go as that handsome captain Mal Reynolds.
