Boarding Cinematic Titanic

The only possible way we could be more excited about Cinematic Titanic docking at Largo at the Coronet is if you rolled us in excitement sprinkles and then dipped us in a big warm vat of excited. Wait. Other way around.

That's because, like you, we're guessing, we're "Mystery Science Theatre 3000" buffs. No matter that the show that celebrated movie-eggheadery in all its snarky, back-sass glory has been off Comedy Central, or Syfy, or -- where was it, ultimately? -- for several years. We love it, you love it.

We could sit with a bag of corn chips and watch Crow take a bath, in fact, although maybe he shouldn't do that. The rusting.

Now a bunch of "MST3K"-ers -- including the show's creator, Joel Hodgson -- are showing up at Largo at the Coronet for a five-night movie-commentary run. The group, which includes Mary Jo Pehl, Frank Conniff, J. Elvis Weinstein, and Trace Beaulieu, calls itself Cinematic Titanic.

Can you miss this? Are you stark-raving for the hilarious, Mike Nelson-y collective of "Rifftrax"? With mad props to Bill Corbett and Kevin Murphy, too.

The screenings start with "Legacy of Blood" on Sunday, October 25th. There are four more movies straight through Thursday, October 29th. We're betting there will be "MST3K" fans in town who catch all five, but we definitely have to make at least one.

Because, Dr. Forrester, in person! And Pearl. Just in time for Halloween, too. TV's Frank, too. We're getting MiSTie.
