Calabasas Malibu Wine & Food Festival

Dozens of wineries and a number of breweries are on tap.

RELAXED REPUTATION: You know how Malibu, and Calabasas, too, have certain summertime reputations? We're talking about the ideas people who don't live in the beach-close and/or hill-close areas get in their heads. Like? Like people in Malibu and Calabasas might be having more fun, might be more relaxed, might be lifting a glass and not stressing so much. Turns out there is a bit of truth to that pretty sweet rep, at least over the weekend of Saturday, June 23 and Sunday, June 24. That's the two-day party known as the Calabasas Malibu Wine & Food Festival, and people from both communities, as well as people who like to spend time in both communities, will be out trying bites and sips from a bevy of wineries, brewhouses, and many, many restaurants.

AND WHEN WE SAY BEVY... we're not blowing warm air. The listing of wineries alone is a screen filler, and the beer spots below them hold their foam. Names catching our eye? Chocolate Shop Red Wine, The Naked Grape, Saintsbury, Surfrider Wines, Crispin Cider, and Beverly Hills Beer. And going with all of that delish drink? Food from Jinky's Cafe -- ♥ Jinky's ♥ -- and Normandie Bakery and Tony's Original New York Pizza. A general admission presale ticket is $50, but there are a few options. Most of all, we're going to take this moment to think more about the positive reps both places have for embracing the good life and see if we can't incorporate that a bit more elsewhere. Yeah, Malibu and Calabasas, we're sucking up to you, a little.
