A traffic accident in Monrovia Thursday morning sheared a power pole and knocked out power to at least two dozen Southern California Edison customers.
The crash occurred just after midnight in the 900 block of Huntington Drive when a woman driving a sedan slammed into a power pole, NBC4 reported.
Police investigated if the driver was intoxicated at the time of the crash. The woman was transported to a hospital in unknown condition.
At least 24 customers were without power and repair crews were on scene, according to Southern California Edison. Power is scheduled to be restored by 8 a.m.
All lanes of traffic on Huntington Drive between Buena Vista Street and Mountain Avenue were expected to be closed until 3 p.m. to allow the damaged pole to be replaced.
