Celebrity Readers Tell Stories at Book Blast

You've seen the Wonder of Reading spots in movie theaters, we're guessing, and after watching one you've probably wanted to go right out to a library, pull something Harry Potter-ish or Anne of Green Gable-esque off the shelf, grab a juice box, and plunk down at a kid-sized table to dive in. That's how we always feel, anyway. And we heartily raise our pens, or, um, keyboards, to any organization that helps children adore reading.

Explore-A-Story is the Wonder of Reading's big, author-laden annual affair that both spreads the good word -- or words, rather -- and raises funds for the organization. There are appearances by writers well-known in the kid-book world, various artsy activities, book signings, and, this being Los Angeles, a bunch of celeb-y book lovers reading aloud. Shia LaBeouf is on this year's roster, as is "Malcolm in the Middle" mom Jane Kaczmarek and cutie Madison Pettis.

It's on Sunday, April 19 from 11AM-3PM, it's at ArcLight Hollywood, and tickets -- $75/person or $200/family of four -- include a CPK lunch. 310-860-1300
