Celebs, Authors Make for WeHo Book Fair

This city has a way of delivering just when you need it, when you can't take one minute more. You find a meter that still has time on it. A friendly server who comps your soda.

And the West Hollywood Book Fair. Why is this annual lit-lovely shindig always just in the nick of time? We'll go back to the spring for our answer and the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books. We've met plenty of enthusiasts in our day, but the people who really, really love the Festival of Books are remarkable. Those people can't be sated. THEY NEED MORE BOOKS. More authors. More brain power. More.

We love 'em more for it.

But here comes West Hollywood, just when those people are itching for another fantastic book affair, some quality strolling and browsing, and celeb sightings.

It's not as big as the LA Times to-do, of course, but there's plenty going on. Bruce Vilanch, Carol Channing, Carol Leifer, Bob Barker, and Amber Tamblyn are all on for the Sunday, October 4th fair; there are many other stars set to show. There will be purveyors of books and other things for the bibliophile. And basically everything the nearly-mad-with-book-lust person needs to make it to next spring.

Thank you, West Hollywood. We see the fair is heading for its decade anniversary soon, and we bet there will be many more after that.
