The music of Broadway composer Frank Loesser will be featured at Center Theatre Group's Salon XVI at the Taper with "Happy to Make Your Acquaintance" on Monday, November 17 at 8 p.m, announced the Center Theater Group. Hosted by Michael Feinstein, Robert Morse will be appearing in the annual event to benefit Hot Tix, one of CTG's discount ticket programs.
Morse, who won a 1962 Tony Award for his role in Loesser's Pulitzer Prize-winning "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying" may not be known to younger audiences as a song and dance man, but rather the shoeless advertising partner Bert Cooper in the television series "Mad Men."
Those joining Feinstin and Morse will include: Theodore Bikel, Rod Gilfry, Jason Graae, Harry Groener, Kim Huber, Elissa Johnston, Jo Sullivan Loesser, Amanda McBroom, Ken Page, Nita Whitaker, and Wesla Whitfield.
Directed by Gordon Hunt, the Salon will feature Loesser's Broadway songs, including standards from "Guys and Dolls," "The Most Happy Fella" and "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying."
Tickets to the Salon at the Taper are $500 per person and a limited number of tickets to the performance only will be available for $200. For more information, call (213) 972-8056.
