A 17-month old boy suffered multiple injuries Wednesday night when he was struck by an alleged hit-and-run driver in Canoga Park, authorities said.
The accident in the 21100 block of Saticoy Street, near Variel Avenue, was reported about 9:05 p.m., Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Devin Gales said.
The child was walking when he was struck by the driver of a 1990s black four-door sedan, Officer Jason Lee of the Los Angeles Police Department's Media Relations Section said. The driver fled following the crash.
The toddler suffered multiple injuries, and was airlifted to Childrens Hospital of Los Angeles, Gales said, adding that he was reported to have stable vital signs.
