Construction Watch: Sierra Bonita Showing Steel

West Hollywood's Santa Monica Boulevard, the site of so much recent protest, will one day be home to the the Sierra Bonita, a mixed-use apartment building that is now showing some steel. As previously noted, some neighbors have voiced concerns (ack, density! ack, traffic!) about this five-story development for disabled and HIV-positive persons. Designed by Tighe Architecture, this project will house 42 one-bedroom apartments (each unit is about 620 square feet) and when construction wraps up next year, the project's retail component will house the West Hollywood Community Housing Corporation and a... Jamba Juice! (Just kidding about that last part).
