Cool: Tool Singer Signs Wine at Whole Foods

Maynard James Keenan helped pioneer the sound of industrial metal, and he also makes wine. Now that's what we call a true Renaissance man, someone who dreamt of a duel career, or at least trying something new, and did it. Keenan, who not only sung for the mega-group Tool but also was one of the metal collective's founding members, has a professional interest in the grape. In fact, he takes his devotion to vino beyond the level where most of us do (which is drink it while watching game shows on the couch); he invested in some Arizona vineyards, and clearly stays involved with what happens to the libations made there.

How involved? You can purchase some wine from Merkin Vineyards, Stronghold Vineyards and Caduceus Cellas and have the Tool frontman sign your bottle when Keenan stops by the Whole Foods at Third and Fairfax. Note that you have to be 21, and pics are not permitted.

Cheers to success on stage, and then, success at an entirely new endeavor. Bold, very bold.
