The Zombiethon: Costumes for a Cause

Run your brains out at Zombiethon

Looking for something to do this Halloween besides play tricks and give out treats? Break out your running shoes and your very best Thiller-esque zombie attire and head over to Silver Lake for Zombiethon 2009.

The first ever Zombiethon will be a community “run for brains” held on Halloween.

And by brains we don’t mean peeled grapes, Jell-O, or a bowl of cold spaghetti. Actual brains.

The event benefits City of Hope, a local charity for brain cancer research. For just $10 you can participate in this event and help save lives.

The fun run/walk goes from 4-6 p.m. on All Hallows Eve on the recreation trail around the Silver Lake Reservoir. Even if you’re not a runner, you can still participate in the event as either a walker or a volunteer.

Afterward you can hit the streets in your finest zombie costume. For an additional $5 donation, you can have truly frightening zombie make-up applied by a professional special effects make-up artist at the event.

Perfect for scaring trick-or-treaters.
