Brush Fire Scorches Acres in Topanga Canyon

A brush fire scorched about two acres Wednesday and briefly threatened homes in the unincorporated Topanga area before crews on the ground and in the air got it under control.

The fire was reported about 4:40 p.m. in the 2000 block of Santa Maria Road in the Topanga Canyon area, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

Crews from the Los Angeles Fire Department also responded to the blaze, which was brought under control about 5 p.m. and fully contained by about 5:45 p.m., officials said.

No injuries were reported.
