LOS ANGELES -- Daft Punk, the French electronica duo, has signed on to make an original score for Disney’s upcoming Tron 2.0, the sequel to the 1982 cult hit.
Daft Punk members Guy Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter have collaborated in previous films. Tron 2.0 will be their first complete feature film score.
According to industry news reports, Tron 2.0 will play as a "next chapter" after the first film and is scheduled for a 2011 release.
The original Tron was scored by music icon Wendy Carlos.
