Few series have gained ratings-glory and a super-devoted fan following like "Dancing with the Stars," so the idea to take some of celebs from the show and send them cha-cha-cha-ing around America? Practically genius. "Dancing with the Stars: The Tour" boasts a cavalcade of favorites from the show -- Lance Bass, Marlee Matlin, Toni Braxton, and Cheryl Burke are all listed on the official site -- and the same mambo-ing moves that have helped the television series reach the stratosphere. Whoever takes the floor on Saturday, the action should be exciting.
Exciting? Very. There are few things as thrilling as really sharp, really professional live dancing -- we could watch ballroom competition on public television for hours, and have -- and the chance to see familiar people, tricked-out in spangly, cut-to-there outfits, jitterbugging and jiving through breathtaking routines, and have them be right there in front of you? Definitely a highlight for foxtrot fans and aficionados of the show alike.
Season eight -- that's right, season eight -- is due in the spring, so it is safe to say this stars-doing-the-samba phenomenon is here to stay (though nobody really stays put on "Dancing"; maybe we should say is here to strut?)
