Decision 08: “Obamarita” or “McCainade”?

Cast your ballot for the next president. Will it be an “Obamarita” or “McCainade”? At blue on  blue in the Avalon Hotel you can decide with your drink order.  From now until November 4, the staff will tally the votes during their “Drink the Vote” contest and forecast the next commander-in-chief on Election Day.

The “Obamarita” consists of Patron Silver, Blue Curacao, fresh lime juice, and Prosecco while the “McCainade” mixes Jim Beam, Amaretto, lemonade, iced tea, and grenadine.  Neither will lower your taxes or fix the financial crisis.

Blue on blue offers a relaxed mid-century atmosphere and casual dining experience from Executive Chef Scott Garrett. Cushioned lounge chairs surround a mid-century pool where hotel guests can "unwind in a an oasis in the middle of the bustling city of Beverly Hills.”

Food & Wine named it one of America’s 50 best hotel restaurants. The menu is a “clean, new approach” that include “must-have items” such as cinnamon braised short ribs and grilled Kurobuta pork chops served with sweet potato puree.

Other election specials include the “filibuster" cheese steak, the GOP (grilled onion & prosciutto flatbread), electoral shooters,  a green party platter and caucus kabobs. Many food and drink items are $8, or three food items for $20.

Vote as many times as you like. Joe Sixpack would be proud.
