DemolitionWatch: Work Begins at Cecconi's

After seeing no signs of life for months at the former Morton's on Melrose and Robertson, we finally spotted what looks like demo at Cecconi's. At this point, plans are still on track for an early 2009 debut, but you know how these things go. Cecconi's is the London transplant owned by Nick Jones, the man behind NYC's exclusive Soho House, and will bring (if it's anything like the original) a menu of carpaccio, lobster ravioli, risotto, Bellinis and scene. Nothing groundbreaking, but the power players will probably flock. The West Hollywood Soho House, which will take up the 10,000-square-foot penthouse floor of the still-under-renovation Luckman Plaza on Sunset Boulevard, is slated to open in mid-2009.
