Diwali, also known as the Festival of Light, is a celebratory commemoration of the Indian New Year; Tanzore Restaurant in Beverly Hills fetes the occasion over three activity-packed nights. On the schedule are Indian couture fashion shows (clothes and baubles), feasting, Bollywood movies and sessions with a henna artist. The late-night Friday party includes a musician playing the dhol -- a percussive instrument -- as well as a DJ (LAist offers a dancing tip).
Delectables galore make up the expansive festival menu. The samosa, that perfect pocket of deliciousness, is served, as well as entrees like Tandoori Sea Bass and Chicken Tikka Masala. Even musing about Chicken Tikka Masala, that savory, spicy gift on a plate, makes one want to immediately enjoy some within the hour. And when we say "one" we mean us.
