It was his second home run in three games and his first at Dodger Stadium.
The Dodgers have to be very happy with the recent play they have been getting from their rookies. Federowicz and Scott Van Slyke have been solid replacements while so many Dodgers sit on the Disabled List.
In his first game back from the DL, Hanley Ramirez went 0-4, but hit the ball very hard in three of his at bats.
He lined out in the first inning to shortstop and in the fourth hit another liner right at pitcher, Clayton Richards, that almost knocked his glove off.
In his third at bat he drove a fly-ball to deep right-center field for a sacrifice fly.
Defensively, Hanley struggled on hits up the middle. He bobbled a one-handed grab that allowed a runner to get on, and then struggled to make a throw on another hit up the middle. The ball ended up over Adrian Gonzalez's head on the throw.
It is understandable that it could take some time for him to make these plays. He should be cautious for a few games in order not to re-aggravate his hamstring.
The Dodgers send out ace Clayton Kershaw on Wednesday to face Jason Marquis of the Padres in the series finale. With the win the Dodgers will have their first series sweep April 5-7 against the Pirates.
